Community Energy Sensors Garryowen Residents Association

Community Energy Sensors

Funded through a +Cityxchange Open Innovation Call this project seeks to compare and contrast energy use of a variety of housing types in Garryowen.

Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG7) Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG11) Climate Action (SDG13)

Following their successful participation in the Creative Climate Action Project; Decarbonising Together, Garryowen Residents Association will continue their community energy journey this summer 2023. Funded through a +Cityxchange Open Innovation Call this project seeks to compare and contrast energy use of a variety of housing types in Garryowen.

The Residents Association will install sensors to get temperature, humidity and energy usage data on a variety of building types in the community. Using data visualisations, the results will be shared across the Garryowen Community and will allow residents to better understand energy use in their homes and build capacity in the community enabling decision making energy interventions

The group will collaborate other groups with Garryowen Development Project and St Johns Brass and Reed Band on sharing their Open Call projects with the community this summer and building momentum on climate and community energy actions in Garryowen.
